Ronald Craig Hoffman

January 17, 1964 — September 2, 2024

Ronald Craig Hoffman, 60, of Frederick, passed away unexpectedly on Monday September 2, 2024 at Frederick Health Hospital. He was born on January 17, 1964 in Highland Park, Illinois to the late Marvin and Rosalind (Raker) Hoffman. He moved to Kensington, Maryland as a child where he grew up, and settled in Frederick, Maryland.

Ron loved spending time with animals, including his dog Sandy and cat Socks. Ron enjoyed trips to the beach, relaxing on a balcony and listening to the waves. He attended many concerts and learned to play the bass. He passed on his love for music to his kids, JJ, Lisa, and Mike, playing rock 'n roll for them from the time they were born and bringing them to their first concerts. When his children were young, he would come up with creative ways to spend time together, from telling superhero stories with his character Super Joey, to making scavenger hunts for road trips. Recently he enjoyed spending quality time with his kids and their growing collection of pets. Ron proudly owned and maintained several sports cars and motorcycles throughout his life. He was always finding new interests and passions, including his recent creation of the U.S. Bongs Museum.

Ron worked for Trick Trucks for the past several years. He also had various other careers during his life. He owned and operated his photo lab, Cherished Memories, where he taught his children to be ambitious and follow their dreams. Ron loved telling stories, including stories about his time as a private investigator, pinball machine technician, and photographer for sporting events.

He is survived by his greatest pride; his children, Lisa Michelle Hoffman (Patrick Nuzzo), Jennifer Julia Hoffman (Andy Gonzalez Campos), Michael Craig Hoffman (Madelaine Lebetkin), fiancée Tracy Walthall Baer, brother-in-law Jeff Pitts, and a soon-to-be-born granddaughter. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister Shari Ann Pitts. Ron was a loving and caring man who would do anything for his loved ones, especially his kids. He made sure his loved ones knew he was always there, supporting and cheering them on. He will be greatly missed.
