Richard Franklin Cook, 76, of Frederick MD, passed away, peacefully, on March 20, 2025.
Richard was born in Frederick, MD, on March 16,1949, to Wilbur F. Cook and Floretta M. Cook. He is survived by his former wife and mother to his children, Beverly L. Cook, and children Jessica M. Cook and James F. Cook. He had 7 grandchildren; Cyrus Shern, Drexel Rhiel, Ava Osborne, Remy Cook , Grayson Cook, Oliver Cook and Charlie Cook. He is also survived by many cousins including Edward Cook, Linda Studebaker and Keith Beachley.
His early years were spent on his family farm on Ballenger Creek Pk. He graduated from Frederick High School in 1967 and was a Vietnam veteran who served in The U.S Air Force from 1972 to 1976. He then finished his education and earned a nursing degree. He worked as an R.N. at Springfield Hospital Center, where he retired after 38 years. Richard was an active member of the Amvets post #2 in Frederick MD. He also enjoyed spending his time with family and friends.
Family will receive friends at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Homes, P.A., 106 E. Church Street, Frederick MD, on Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 10 - 11 A.M. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11:00 A.M. Interment is PRIVATE.
