Mary Jeanne Daly, 91, of Frederick Maryland, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 27th, surrounded by family. Born on July 10, 1933, in Lackawanna, New York, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Arthur and Jeanne (Le Fevre) Espenscheid.
Mary Jeanne is survived by her husband John (Jack) Daly, with whom she was blissfully wed for over 72 years. She was also a loving mother to her four children who survive her – Jeannette Marie Rowe (Mike), Michael Arthur Daly (Jeanne), Robert Christopher Daly (Denise), and Mary Kathleen Crum (Arthur). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, her sister Jane Bartolomeo and brother-in-law Nick as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister Eileen Enwright and her brother-in-law Jim.
Mary Jeanne grew up in Chevy Chase Maryland but would love to spend her summers visiting her relatives in Hamburg, New York. She attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School in Bethesda and Holy Names Catholic High School in Silver Spring, MD. She was an active member of St. John the Baptist Church of Silver Spring for many years. She enjoyed bowling, coaching cheerleading, cooking, gardening and crafting. She was a master seamstress and enjoyed making dresses for her daughters and grandchildren. She loved the beach, Ocean City and Fenwick Island, and enjoyed sharing many memorable times there with her family and friends. Mary Jeanne was a loyal and generous friend and sister. Her loving kindness, fun disposition, and generosity of spirit will always be remembered by all who knew her.
Family and friends will be received at Keeney Basford Funeral Home at 106 E Church St., Frederick MD 21701 on Friday, January 3, from 4-7 pm. A memorial service will be held at Saint Katharine Drexel Church of Frederick, 8428 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702 on January 4, at 11 am, with a viewing prior to Mass beginning at 10 am. The interment will take place at Parklawn Cemetery at 12800 Veirs Mill Rd. Rockville, MD 20853 on Sunday, January 5, at 11:30 am. Memorial contributions may be made to the Religious Coalition for Emergency Human Needs at 27 Degrange St., Frederick, MD 21701.
