Kathy Long

Mrs. Miriam Kathryn "Kathy" Himes Long, 76, of Frederick passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was the loving wife of the late David L
Long, who preceded her in death in 2013.

Born November 8, 1948, in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Paul Jr. and Miriam Mercer Himes. Kathy and her husband enjoyed working together creating projects with wood. Her favorites were her All Season Wood Houses. Kathy's passion was her art, she was a great seamstress and worked most of her life to help support her family. She also loved Country music and fishing.

She is survived by her son; David Long (Kathleen), daughter; Treasa Long (John Anderson), grandchildren; Michael Lake (Ashley), Stephanie Lake (Keisha), Kendra Deater (Brandt), Richard B Hillery (India), Christopher Long (Erin), John M Anderson (Kelsey), Keanu Long (Siera) and Hallie Anderson, brother; Paul Himes III, sisters; Paula Pendergraft (Robert) , Deborah Shores (Michael) and Treasa Jackson, Aunt Wanda Himes, 14 greatgrandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter; Anna Marie Long Lake Deater and granddaughter; Britney Anderson.

A memorial service will be held at 10am on Friday, Jan 10th at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. church Street, Frederick, MD 21701. Inurnment will be private. At a later date.
