Mr. Connie Mack Cannon, 92, of Frederick, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2019, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Betty Price Cannon. They were married for 68 years.
Born in Frederick, on July 20, 1926, he was the son of the late Charles Burton and Nellie Twentey Cannon.
Connie Mack had worked for many years at Hiltner’s Furniture & Appliance Store serving as President, retiring in 1989. He had also worked for the United Insurance Co. of America and the Frederick News and Post.
He was an active member of the Brook Hill United Methodist Church and had served for many years as a teacher and leading members in church service. He had tutored for over 20 years at Monocacy Elementary School and had also volunteered for Hospice of Frederick County and Camp Jamie. He is a graduate of the Frederick High School Class of 1943.
Surviving are his two children, Timothy L. Cannon of Frederick, and Terri J. Cannon and husband Sabino Ortiz, of Grant, CO; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother and sister, Charles Burton Cannon, Jr., and Reta Jeanne Cannon Carbaugh.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, March 15, 2019, at Brook Hill United Methodist Church.
Interment will be at a later date in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
Arrangements are with the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick.
