Charles T. “Bud “ Wagner was born on August 6, 1989 at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, MD. He was named after his great grandfather “Grandpa Bud” Charles Oral Wagner. However, many assumed that “Bud” was in honor of his father’s love of Marijuana and his mother’s love of good American beer. He died on September 21, 2021. Bud was predeceased by his father, Ronald Lee “Ron” Wagner in 2005, his maternal grandmother Katherine Stewart “Gammy” in 2015, his Aunt Paula Stewart in 1976, his Aunt Kathy Stewart in 1964, his maternal grandfather Gene Paul Stewart in 2021, and dear friend Billy Bowen in 2006. Bud had a complicated and colorful life. He was raised in a non-conformist home. We had traditional values and are proud of the people our children have become. He was both an Eagle Scout and a convicted felon. His IQ was crazy high, but he really enjoyed all of the simple things in life. Like his father, he was an avid outdoorsman. And like his mother, an astute businessman, committed Christian, and live music enthusiast. More was always better with Bud. He worked hard, played hard and loved hard. Bud is survived by his mother, Sandy Wagner Jackson (Sebastian FL), his sister Lisa Wagner Roberts (Justin)(Brunswick, MD), stepfather Charlie Jackson, step sister Ebonee Harper (Jeff)(Frederick), nephew Carlitos Serrano (Frederick) and neice Amaree Tedder (Frederick), nephews Colton Wagner and Jayden Roberts and an amazing group of friends who are family. Fiance Andrea Youngbar and their son Joel Youngbar are left behind as well. His dear friends Nick Sweeney (Brunswick) and Jack Shafer (Middletown). The congregation of Smithsburg Valley Church as well as the whole Ercole team, are sharing this very significant loss. Bud graduated from St. John’s Regional Catholic School followed by Frederick County Public Schools via a GED. Although he attended Frederick County VoTech as an electrician, he did not commit to that career path for several years. He was in the U.S. Army only briefly but was a true Patriot in every way. Bud rejoined Ercole Electric in 2017. He was a job Foreman and the Ercole Electric family has been key to his success personally and professionally. He got his journeyman electrical license in 2019. In 2018, Bud found his life partner with Andrea “Drea” Youngbar. They were engaged since 2019. Drea is a very special person and you would have to be to be with this guy. Special bonus, Drea came with a son that Bud adored, Joel Youngbar who is 18. He was a devoted partner and father. Bud and Drea bought a retired schoolbus in 2019 which they have been renovating as a “tiny” and mobile home. Currently, they were residing in the bus in Hagerstown, MD. Drea’s parents Deb and Allen Youngbar and the entire Smithsburg Valley Baptist Church are an integral part of our family as well. Not to mention “Zoey Dog”. Bud’s cause of death is pending. It was not drug related. It will be months for a conclusive explanation from the MD State Medical Examiner. Bud donated many useable body parts to the Living Legacy Foundation who tells us that he will help 25-30 living recipients. Bud & Drea are members of the Smithsburg Valley Church. Donations in Bud’s honor are welcomed. Arrangements are with Keeney & Basford funeral home. There will be both a religious service and an appropriate Celebration of Life some time in November. Updates should be available through the Keeney Basford website. Please feel free to View Photo Gallery, using the navigation tab on left
