Adam David White

January 25, 1981 — February 6, 2025

Adam David White, age 44 of New Market, MD, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He fought a courageous 44-year battle with Cystic Fibrosis.

Born in Frederick on January 25th, 1981, he was a son of Gary Wayne and Karen Dotterer White of New Market. Adam was married to the love of his life Jennifer.

Adam was a 1999 graduate of Linganore High School, and a 2003 graduate of Frederick Community College with his associate’s degree in Art.

With his love of music, Adam played guitar in the church praise band at Frederick Church of the Brethren and Union Bridge Church of the Brethren and for Sing For Breath (a fund raiser for Cystic Fibrosis). He also wrote and performed songs to show his love of the Lord and his way of overcoming the struggles of his life.  Music was his way of giving his talents to the Lord and to show the world the love of Jesus.

Adam grew up on the pool deck, swimming for the Frederick Area Swim Team and Linganore High School Swim Team. He then became a USS Swim Coach and coached FAST and high school swimming. He was honored to be the first swim coach at Oakdale High School the first year it opened. With a team of just Freshmen and Sophomores, coming from three different school districts, he blended the talents and established a team and a foundation that has helped them to be the power force they are today. He also coached swimming at Walkersville High School.

Adam lived a very happy life, being a Boy Scout and a church youth group member. He enjoyed trips with his family, and especially a trip to Canada to meet a pen pal and his first trip to Florida as a little boy, to see Nickelodeon Studios.

Adam. along with his brother Matthew, were determined to make the most of their life with the genetic disease Cystic Fibrosis. The loss of his brother Matthew in 1994 was the hardest time of his life. He was blessed to keep his faith in the Lord, despite sadness, and set out to tell others of the love of God. The greatest blessing was meeting Jennifer and having a companion to enjoy his life with him.

Adam is survived by his wife Jennifer, his parents Gary and Karen and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He will also be missed by his dog Lilly and cat A.J. Adam was preceded in death by his brother Matthew, maternal grand parents David and Mary Louise Dotterer and paternal grandparents Edward (Jack) and Martha White.

With Adam’s heart for Israel, it is requested that any contributions go to International Fellowship of Christians and Jews at https://www.ifcj.org/. This organization provides help to Jewish People living in poverty around the world.
