Mary Ellen Eaton, 73, of Frederick , MD passed away peacefully in the arms of Our Lord, Jesus on Sun., Sept. 2, 2012 at the University of Maryland Hospital. Born Feb. 11, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Lewis D. and Mary L. (Hawse) Lenhart. Mary Ellen attended Frederick High School. Retired at the time of her death, her most recent employment included (partner) Antietam Inn, Citizen's Nursing Home, and Maryland National Bank. Mary Ellen touched the lives of everyone she met, and was known for her compassion and giving to the community. She was a loving companion and mother. She was a member of Flint Hill United Methodist Church. Until her illness she was a volunteer with Partners In Care. She loved playing dominos, bingo and the slot machines and most importantly, spending time with family. She is survived by her loving family, companion of 33 yrs. and care giver, Bill Bell, a son, Thomas H. Eaton, daughter, Theresa K. Dorsey (Randy), all of Frederick, grandchildren, Larry J. Shelton, Jr. (Christine), Big Pool, Md., Rebecca J. Eaton (Zach) of Frederick, Md., and Jody M. Barnes (Chris) of California, great grand-daughters, Kadie L. Shelton of Big Pool, Md. and Dylan Barnes of Calif, Special brother-in-law, John H. Eaton of Tucson, Az. and a special sister-in-law, Shirley J. Lenhart of Middletown, Md., brother- in-law, Lander R. Skeen, many special nieces and nephews and special friends Gene & Gerry Burger, Becky Edwards Johnson, Alice & Walt Hodges, Geraldine Lynn and Myra Wilson Thorburn. Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Eaton on April 28, 1965, brothers, Robert M. Lenhart , Lewis D. Lenhart, Jr., James R. Lenhart, H. Eugene Thompson and sisters Peggy J. Skeen, Ruth E. Lenhart, and Pearl Welsh. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, Md. Pastor Elza Hurst and Alice Rader will officiate. Interment will be private.
