Elizabeth Ann Butterworth

Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Butterworth, 90, of Frederick, died on November 22, 2012 at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Clair William Butterworth, who died April 26, 1988. Born January 26, 1922 in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Annie Amelia Betker Hildebrand. Mrs. Butterworth had been a longtime member of the Frederick Church of the Brethren and the Bydanho Sunday School Class. In early years, Mrs. Butterworth was employed with the Social Security Administration and later with the War College, prior to her retirement. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including Dr. Janet Hildebrand of Louisiana and Donald Butterworth of Kentucky. Mrs. Butterworth is remembered by special friends May Bell, Carroll Lawson, Geraldine Moser, and Steve and Connie Wisner. She was preceded in death by her devoted daughter, Miss Lydia A. Butterworth, in October 2006; and brother, Rev. John W. Hildebrand, formerly of Fort Worth, TX. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held 10:00AM, Monday, December 3, 2012, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, MD. Rev. Dr. James Flora will officiate.
