Mr. Richard Hickman Frye, devoted husband, wonderful father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 5, 2013. He was born on October 18, 1918 in Loudon County, VA. He was the son of Robert George Frye and Alice Gladys Hickman Frye. He was the youngest of six siblings. He married Perla Virginia Beall on April 13, 1940 and then he very proudly served in World War II in Co. G. Infantry Regiment, 9th division and earned a Bronze Star. He worked for Amberger & Wholfarth of Washington DC for 56 years. While living out his remaining years in Buckeystown he not only took care of his wife but also loved to mow the lawns and get on his golf cart and visit the neighbors. He loved helping people and loved making things with his hands. He always wanted to be busy doing something. Mr. Frye is survived by his six children: Ronald Frye and wife Debbie of Myersville, Larry Frye and wife Kathy of Clarksburg, Ellen Morton and deceased husband Jerry of Frederick, James Frye of Frederick, Julie Nicklas and husband Randy of Buckeystown and Betsy Grady of Laurel; his grandchildren: Robin Hammond, Steven Frye, Joy Frye, Thomas Morton, Rachel Morton, James D. Frye, Richard Jason Frye, Sean Grady, Marshall Kisner, Randy Nicklas and Tyler Nicklas; his great-grandchildren: Ryan, Benjamin and Elyse Hammond, Thomas Morton, Jr., Summer Frye, Nichole Frye, Marcus and Aliyah Pearl Kisner. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Demory, Gay Ovelman, Evelyn Ebersole, Leroy Frye and Robert Frye. Graveside services will be at a later date by the family.
