Charles Franklin Gue Sr.

Mr. Charles "Spark" Gue, 80, of Frederick, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Phyllis Gue for 59 years. Born on January 30, 1933, he was the son of the late Jasper and Leary Speak Gue. He was a longtime employee at both Stup's Garage and Damascus Chevrolet as an auto body mechanic. He was a member of the Redman Club, Amvets Post # 2, and the Mt. Pleasant Ruritan Club, all where he had many friends he enjoyed spending time with. He also liked hunting, fishing, and spending time with friends and family at his cabin in West Virginia. In addition to his wife, he is survived by seven children: Vickie Brashears and husband David of Frederick, Charles F. Gue, Jr. and wife Brenda of Keedysville, Deborah Granger and husband Scott of Dandridge, TN, Dennis Gue and wife Susan of Kearneysville, WV, Robert Gue of Frederick, Karen Jaeger and husband Brian of Finksburg, and Richard Gue and wife Martine of Frederick. He is also survived by siblings, Frances O'Day of Johnsville, Gerald Gue of Tavenier, FL, and James Gue of Fairfield, PA and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by brother Jasper Gue, Jr. of Brunswick. The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, on August 20, 2013, at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, MD 21701. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel at the funeral home. Rev. Norman Ross will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. Online condolences may be shared at www.keeneybasford.com
