Ruth Geraldine Waters, age 91 of Frederick, died on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was the daughter of Rhomer and Mae Minnick and wife of Edwin Waters, Sr. who predeceased her in 1993. Born on February 19, 1924 in Burkittsville, Ruth grew up in Brunswick and attended Brunswick High School. She worked at Horine's Drug Store in Brunswick. Later Ruth worked at Key Vending Company, Barbara Fritchie Restaurant and retired from Marriott Corporation in 1989. Ruth was an active member of the Parkway Community Church. Mrs. Waters is survived by her son, Edwin Waters Jr. of Frederick; a sister Bernice Soule of Frederick; and many nieces and nephews. Ruth will be remembered by James Chrissy and Hailey Schultz of Flintstone and the Kern family. She loved children and always had a house full of children. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Erma Whitmore, Mary Lloyd, and Louise Stotler The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 19, 2015 from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 pm at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick where services will be held in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 10 am. Rev. Dr. Howard Ruley, pastor of the Parkway Community Church will officiate. The interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. Contributions may be made in Mrs. Waters' name to the Parkway Community Church, 5665 New Design Road, Frederick, MD 21703.
