Diana Cook "Memaw" Jackson, 79, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday May 29, 2015. Born on July 16, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Enock Robertson Cook and Gladys Holland Cook. She was the beloved wife of the late James Robert Jackson, who preceded her in death, January 11, 1996. She is survived by two sons and five daughters; Zachary N. Jackson, (Ilva) and William R. Jackson, (Tina), both of Germantown, MD, Denise Yvonne Weedon, (Daniel), Emma G. Jackson, Cynthia R. Jones, (Eugene) all of Frederick, MD. Dorothea A. Smith, (Presley) of Richmond, VA. Maxine Y. LaCroix, Chambersburg, PA., Step-children; Melvin Spriggs, (Joanie), Gerald Spriggs, (Priscilla), James R. Jackson, Jr., (Claritha), Charles Jackson, (Patricia), Elizabeth Ambush, Mary Sanders, and Robert E. Jackson, (Charlestown, WV). One sister, Sarah "Sally" Cook, and one brother, Bernard Cook, both of Columbia, MD., Brother-in-law, Dr. Roger Estep, Rockville, MD. Devoted niece, Mildred Brown, and three devoted friends, Carolyn Rollins, Janice Dorsey, and Roxena Worrell. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. She was an employee of the City of Frederick, as a Crossing Guard and Frederick County Public Schools. Public viewing will be held on Saturday June 6, 2015 at 11 am- Noon, at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home., 106 East Church Street Frederick, Maryland 21701. The family will receive friends from 11am until the time of the service at 12 noon.
