Virginia (Ginny) Handley of Frederick, Md., died peacefully Thursday, October 15, 2015 at her residence. Born Virginia Frances Jinks in Vancouver, British Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Sarah (McMillian) Jinks. She was a devoted long time member of the Episcopal Church of the Mediator in Allentown, Pa., where she enjoyed participating in many areas of church life. She was graduated of Lord Byng High School in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. For four years, she lived in England, where she had close relatives and enjoyed many happy times. Also, she spent 1 1/2 years interesting years in Weisbaden, Germany as a secretary to the American Air Force. She was very proud to receive her American citizenship in 1970. Ginny worked as a Legal Assistant and later for the PA Office of Vocational Rehabilitation in Allentown and enjoyed keeping up with news from her former coworkers. She had many interests including being an avid bridge player, gardening, reading, traveling, dried flower arranging and was a proud member of the Lehigh Valley Scottish Society. She particularly liked to visit her family and friends in Vancouver and did so frequently. Ginny moved to Frederick, Md., a few years ago and made many new friends in the community and at the Spring Ridge Senior Apartments. Ginny is survived by her son Stephen Handley of Atlanta, Ga., daughters Marianne Warley of Frederick and Gail Lambert of Princeton, NJ, grandchildren Alex Warley and daughter-in-law Cassie Warley, Michael Warley, Emily Lambert, Matthew Lambert, Katie Lambert and Andrew Lambert, great-grandson Lincoln Warley, brother Dr. Lionel Jinks and wife Carole, sister Doreen Greig, both of Vancouver, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. The family would like to express special gratitude for the support of her sister-in-law and husband, Marian and Elliot Edwards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Dr. Gordon Jinks and wife Norma Jean (Willie) Jinks, and brother-in-law Allan Greig. A memorial celebration of life will take place at a later date in Frederick, Md., and in Allentown, Pa. Inurnment will be private.
