Mr. George Vincent Hull, 102, of Frederick, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2015, at his home. He married Helen Gladys Miller, of Hagerstown on April 10, 1940. Before her passing in 1996, they were married for 56 years. Born in Frederick on July 20, 1913, he was a son of the late Charles Elmer and Annie Haines Hull. He graduated from Frederick High School in 1930. He was a veteran of WW II, having served in the United States Army, and drafted shortly after turning 30 in 1943. He started working at age 11, delivering the Frederick News. At age 13 he started a 15 year career with Peoples Drug Store. In 1941, he became an agent with Met Life retiring in 1975 with 34 years of service. After retiring he volunteered with the American Red Cross. Vince was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, his entire life. He was a life member and honorary commander of the Francis Scott Key American Legion Post # 11, a life member of the VFW Post # 3285, and a member of the Columbia Lodge 58 A. F. & A. M., Frederick. Surviving are two daughters, Vicki Propps, of Charles Town, W V and Joan Thorsen and husband Martin of, Chesapeake, VA, grandchildren Dale Settle ( Patti), Dean Settle (Nancy), Dagny and Christian Thorsen, step grandchildren, Lisa, David and Jeffery Propps. great- grandchildren, Brittany, Kaley and Chance Settle, step great grandchildren, Sierra, Lakin and Matt Propps and Emily Bailey, and several great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Hull and six sisters, Laura Elder, Mildred Jones, Helen Mullican, Ruth Strine and two who died in infancy, and a son-in-law, Paul Propps. Funeral services are 2 p.m., on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at Calvary United Methodist Church, Frederick. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Harry C. Cole and The Rev. David W. Simpson, will officiate. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. Arrangements are with the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick.
