Douglas N. Ludtke

Dr. Douglas N. Ludtke, 67, of Frederick, died Sunday, February 21, 2016, at Frederick Memorial Hospital from complications of lung cancer.

Born October 10, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late Stanley and Ruth (Appel) Ludtke.

Doug was raised in Romeo, MI and graduated from Romeo High School in 1966. He received his Pharmacy degree from Ferris State University in 1971, his Master's of Medicinal Chemistry from University of Michigan in 1974 and his Doctorate in Natural Sciences from the University of Konstanz, Konstanz, Germany in 1981.

Doug is survived by his sisters, Jeanine Hanson, Mary Ludtke and husband Victor Dotson and Carol Ludtke Prigan and husband R. Scott, nieces, Jennifer Hanson and Rosa Prigan, nephew, Jonathan Hanson, girlfriend, Elena Gustchina, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by brother-in-law, Phillip Hanson.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00PM, on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, MD 21701. Dr. Carol Ludtke Prigan will officiate. Inurnment will be in Michigan at a later date.
