Yvonne "Bonnie" E. Rice

Yvonne “Bonnie” Elizabeth Rhoderick Linton Rice, 91, of Frederick, passed Friday, October, 4, 2019 at Buckingham’s Choice. Born April 20, 1928 in Frederick to the late John J. and Ella (Wagner) Rhoderick. She was the beloved wife to the late Ralph Linton, who passed in 1982, and Harvey “Jim” Rice, who passed in 1999.

Bonnie graduated from Frederick High School. She worked as an Avon Representative and also worked at American Greeting Cards. She was a devoted and lifelong member of Araby United Methodist Church. She was part of the Araby United Methodist Women, a member of the Urbana Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and the Urbana Homemakers Club.

Bonnie enjoyed bowling at the Walkersville Bowling Center and Village Lanes. She would go dancing almost every Saturday night. Bonnie was also known for her ability to make delicious caramel cakes and lemon meringue pies.

She is survived by her daughters: Patricia A. Mills, Barbara J. Smith and husband Doug, and Annette Simanski, grandchildren: Ray Mills and wife Kim, Eric Mills, Blaine “BJ” Smith and wife Jamie, Christopher Smith and wife Christine, and Shanae Harding and significant other Michael Byrd, great-grandchildren: Kirsten Mills, Dakota Mills, Lexi Rowe and husband Royce, Justin Mills, Joshua Smith, Alyson Smith, Emma Bedford, Riley Smith, Trey M. Brenneman, and Kayden Byrd, her sisters Betty Bures, and husband Marvin, and Jeanette “Jo” Malphurs. In addition to her husbands, she was predeceased by son-in-law Frank Mills, granddaughter Misty Harding, great-grandson Trenton Brenneman, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters.

Family and friends can gather at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, Md 21701, on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 from 4 – 7pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at 10am. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
