William Robert "Bill" Mcfarland, Jr.

Mr. William Robert "Bill" McFarland, Jr., 84, of Monrovia, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, February 13, 2025.  He was the loving husband of Winonna McFarland for 65 years.

Born October 31, 1940 in Frederick, he was the son of the late William Sr. and Mary McFarland.

Bill served in the Army till June 30, 1965 as Military Police.  After his service, he went straight into construction for his entire life.  He started working with Hamel Construction in 1997 for almost 27 years.   When he wasn't working he enjoyed hunting and fishing with the Cochran boys, collecting guns and working on vintage cars.  Most importantly, Bill enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children;  Tina Perry (Steve), Cheryl Sheppard (George) and Robert McFarland (Dee), grandchildren; Allen Weller (Shana), Keisha Weller, Dustin McFarland (Rachel), Chase Sheppard (Taylor) and Kaitlin Sheppard, great-grandchildren; Hayden, Taya, Gavin, Logan, Jaxson, Eli, Julz, Delilah, Harlow and Tate, siblings; Mary, Jim, Eddie (Juanita) and David (Pat) and sister-in-law; (Oneida), numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his brother; Merhle and brother-in-law; Kenny and sister-in-law Joann.

The family will receive friends from 12pm to 1pm, on Friday, February 21, 2025 at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick.  The funeral service will follow at 1pm at the funeral home.  Inurnment will be private.
