William F. Lee

William F. Lee, Jr. passed into eternal peace on July 5, 2024 in the home he constructed by his own hand, surrounded by his loving family and devoted wife, Frances “Susie” Lee. He was born in Frederick, MD. On February 19 ,1944 to the late Charlotte Doris Fritz and the late William F. Lee, Sr. William is survived by his son William F., III (Mary) of Knoxville, MD. He was predeceased by his daughter Katherine M. Lee. He is the loving grandfather of Katrina Shafer of Hagerstown, MD., Ashlee Nath of Co., Russell “RJ” Heino of WVA. and Jessica Lee of Knoxville, MD. Dear great grandfather of Rowan, Emersyn and Indira Nath and Annmarie Heino. William is the brother of Doris Lawrence (Michael) of Sabillasville, MD., Mark W. Lee (Suzanne) of Frederick, Md. and the late Stephen R. Lee (Nancy) of Urbana, Md. After graduating from Frederick High School, William served in the U.S. Army, signal corps, maintenance and supply rising to the rank of Sargeant. Following his service, he worked with his father to apprentice in the building trades first with Grover Colley, then rising to project superintendent with Haley Construction and Stanley martin Co. He went on to found his own site development firm W.F. Lee, Inc. managing it for 25 years. Bill was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and boating in Florida. He adored spending time with his grandchildren. Friends and relatives may call on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Homes, P.A. 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD. 21701 where a funeral liturgy will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 515 S. Market Street, Frederick. Md. 21701. Susie would like to extend her deepest gratitude to Nancy Lee and Kendall Mirda for their tireless support and efforts in caring for she and Bill during his hospice. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to Evangelical Lutheran Church of Frederick.
