Virginia Irene Boone

Mrs. Virginia Irene Boone, 75, of Lime Kiln, went to be with the Lord, Friday, November 25, 2022. She was the loving wife to the late Wayne Boone Sr.

Born January 20, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Charles R. Sr. and Ethel L. Smith.

She was retired from Leidos Biochemical Research Inc. She had a love for family gatherings especially weekends with her sisters. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, going to her trailer in Delaware aka "The Treehouse".

She loved to go to the beach in the summer. In her early years, she loved fishing on the boat with her husband, son and family. Also, she enjoyed a few cruises with family and friends to the Tropics. She loved occasional Bingo outings. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her son; Randall Boone Jr. (Barbara) of Buckeystown, son-in-law; Gary Shankle Sr. of Walkersville, grandchildren; Karen Saylor (Brandon), Kimberly Harrison (Joshua) of Woodsboro, Randall Boone III (Stephanie) of Frederick, James L. Boone (Maribeth) of Olney, great-grandchildren; Kami Harrison, Karli Harrison, Jackson Boone and Hailey Boone, sisters; Florence Beachley (Gene), of Brunswick, Becky DeGrange of Frederick, Janet Linton of Frederick and Jerry Webb (John) of Knoxville, brother; Charles Smith Jr. (Mary) of Adamstown, brother-in-law; Butch Hunter of Buckeystown, numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter; Barbara Shankle, son; James E, Boone, sister; Bonnie Hunter and brothers; Terry Smith and Robert Smith.

The family will receive friends from 4pm to 7pm, on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. The funeral service will be held at 12:00PM, on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 in the Etchison Memorial Chapel at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
