Susan Kay Rizzo

Susan Kay Rizzo, age 76, of Frederick, MD,  passed at her home on January 9, 2024. She was born in Frederick, MD on August 8, 1947 and is the daughter of Lester W. Putman and Viola Hahn Putman.

She is a graduate of Frederick High School class of 1965. She is a member of the Francis Scott Key Post 11, American Legion Auxiliary. Susan worked for more than 20 years as a receptionist for Doctor Stroh.

Susan enjoyed going to watch her grandsons' baseball games, watching game shows on television and going to family dinners. Susan always looked forward to when her daughter would come home from California.

Susan is survived by her son Joseph Rizzo, Jr. (Melissa), daughter Suzanne Rizzo, grandchildren Corey Hoffman (Nicole), Kayla Rizzo (Joshua) and Ryan Rizzo (Hailey), great-grandchildren Corey Jr. "CJ", Ryleigh, Payton, Alexis and Braxton, her siblings Lester Putman, Dorothy Bailey, Ralph Putman and Katheryn Cioffi. She is predeceased by her daughter Karen T. Rizzo and siblings Frances Wilkins, Betty Wellen, Carol Benton and Lewis Putman.

The family will receive friends at Keeney and Basford Funeral Homes, P.A., 106 E. Church Street on Sunday, January 14, 2024 from 1 - 4 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, January 15 at 11 am. Interment in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
