Mr. Steven Lewis Blair, 67, of 11 Perkins Lane, Stafford, VA, died Friday, November 19, at his home.
Born July 9, 1954, in Washington, DC, he was a son of the late William Otey and Hilda Jean Blair.
Mr. Blair graduated from Governor Thomas Johnson High School in 1972 and attended Frederick Community College for Tech Drawing and Engineering Graphics. He worked as a carpenter with Ausherman Construction, Frederick; and as a Master Carpenter with US Navy Public Works, Facility Maintenance at Bethesda Naval Hospital, Maryland and Marine Corps Station, Quantico, Virginia until his retirement in the summer of 2021. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed canoeing.
Surviving are one daughter, Monica Blair Lauer and husband Brian of Smithsburg, MD; one sister, Rebecca Mae Blair Zack and husband Stephen of Charleston, S.C.; two brothers, William Otey Blair Jr. and wife Susan Havle of Taylors, SC; Philip Wayne Blair and wife Beverly Ivey of Greer, S.C.; two very special grandchildren, Konner and Kaylie Lauer; former wife and dear friend, Diana Whisner-Warner of Wytheville, VA; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.
Mr. Blair was preceded in death by his parents William Otey and Hilda Jean Blair; and one sister, Mary Esther Blair.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 4th, at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Funeral services will be held at noon, at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
