Stephen Thomas

Mr. Stephen Michael "Stevie" Thomas, of Frederick, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his three sisters on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.

Born October 17, 1953 in Roanoke, VA, he was the son of the late Senator Edward and Lois (Viola) Thomas.

Stevie graduated from the Maryland School for the Deaf in 1972. He enjoyed walking throughout the town and greeting everyone along the way. He was an avid Redskins, Orioles, Capitals and Terps fan. He enjoyed bowling and was a Special Olympics Champion numerous times. He loved to swim and enjoyed spending Summers in Bethany Beach, DE.

He is survived by his sisters; Anne Thomas Yager of Dallas, TX, Sue Frances Thomas of Frederick and Patricia Thomas Riley of Charleston, SC, nieces and nephews; Edward Philip Thomas Yager, Katherine Anne Yager, Charles Andrew Mogul and Grace Rose Mogul, numerous cousins and extended family.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM, on Friday, January 6, 2023 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 515 S. Market Street, Frederick. Those wishing to attend will gather at FSK Chapel before 2:00PM to process back to the gravesite.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Stevie's name to Hospice of Frederick County, 1 Frederick Health Way, Frederick, MD 21701.
