Sandra Jean Wetzel

Sandra Jean "Sandy" Wetzel, 73, of Frederick, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019, at her home. Born in Frederick on March 16, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Charles A. Stimmel and Ethel Eileen Shank Linton.
Sandy had worked for many years at the American Legion in Frederick. She was a member of the Salvation Army, the auxiliary of the Francis Scott Key American Legion and the Independent Hose Company.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews, including, Maria Gorton, several great nieces and nephews, including, Cheyenne and Ciarra Gorton who she thought of as daughters, many dear friends including, Mary Catherine Martz. She was preceded in death by a brother, Chuck Stimmel.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, June 20, 2019, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701, with visitation one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Harmony Cemetery, Myersville.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to the funeral home.(address above)
