Roy Lee Rippeon

Roy Lee Rippeon, age 96, of Frederick passed away on January 9, 2023. He was the son of the late Roy R. Rippeon and Ruth Irene Rippeon - Smith and his late stepfather John W. Smith.

Roy was a graduate of Liberty High School class of 1944. He spent his younger years on the farm, but most of his life was spent as an automotive mechanic. He helped open Watkins - Burdette Motor Co. where he worked for 30 years. He worked at many other dealers both before and after.

Roy was a life member of Frederick Moose Lodge #371 and Independent Hose Co. #1, as well as a member of Amvets Post #2, Redman of Frederick #19.

Roy is survived by his sister Betty Rippeon Long of Bartonsville, MD and several nieces and nephews. He will always be remembered by special friends Beryl Fowler, Ron Huntzberry and Charles Brandenburg. He is predeceased by his daughter Lana Lee Rippeon and his special cousin Wilmer Rippeon.

Family will receive friends at Keeney and Basford Funeral Homes, P.A., 106 E. Church Street on Monday, January 16, 2023 from 12 noon to 2 P.M. The funeral service will begin at 2 P.M. with interment following in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Roy's name to Hospice of Frederick.
