Rosalie Catherine Demmer Wienhoff, age 91, passed from this earth on January 8, 2025, to be with our Lord. Rosalie was born November 19, 1933 in Cuero, Texas to Joseph and Cecilia Boldt Demmer. Her childhood was spent in Cuero and Nixon until her family moved to San Antonio during World War II. She married Glenn William Wienhoff on April 7, 1956 and they moved to Illinois, eventually settling in Maryland in the mid 1960s. They were married 68 years.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn Wienhoff; her daughters, Rose Wienhoff, Linda (Jeff) Crilly; sons, William (Jennifer) Wienhoff, Carl (Virginia) Wienhoff; 10 grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Lawrence and Raymond. Marianne Park, Lawrence’s widow, lives in Texas, along with her and Lawrence’s 6 children.
Rosalie worked as a secretary for Prudential Life Insurance in an office above the Majestic Theater in downtown San Antonio. She met Glenn when he was stationed at Randolph Air Force Base. After leaving Texas, she became a homemaker and was an active volunteer at St Elizabeth Church and School in Rockville, served as Secretary of the Lady Supporters of Korean War Veterans Association Chapter 142 and was a founding member of the Frederick Wildflowers. Rosalie was also an active member of St Ignatius of Loyola Parish in Ijamsville, Maryland.
She enjoyed indoor gardening, getting together with the Lunch Bunch and playing bridge, belonging to a number of bridge groups over the years. Most of all she loved her family.
Viewing will be held at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church, 4103 Prices Distillery Road, Ijamsville, MD, on Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 10 - 11 am. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated beginning at 11 am. Interment in St. John's Cemetery, Frederick, MD will immediately follow. Online condolences may be shared at www.keeneybasford.com.
