Roberta Lea Nelson

On March 22, 2024, Roberta Lea Nelson, age 74, passed peacefully and went home to be with our Lord and Savior. She was raised in Baltimore and was the daughter of Walter H. Cross and Florence Hicks Cross.

She was a proud LPN having graduated from the nursing program at South Baltimore General Hospital (Harbor Hospital). She loved her grandchildren and caring for her dog Sadie and her cats. She delighted those around her with her quick wit and spunkiness.

She is survived by her soulmate and husband of 50 years, Earl Nelson, who she loved immensely, her daughter Stacy Wright (Ira), grandchildren Nicholas and Natalie, step-children Earl Lee Nelson, IV and Denene Yates.

A graveside service will be held at St Peter's Catholic Church Cemetery 9190 Church Street, Libertytown, MD, on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at 11:00 AM. A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held immediately following at Sullivan Hall at the church.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Frederick County Humane Society www.fchs.org . or Frederick Hospice, www.frederickhealthhospice.org .
