Robert “Dwayne” “Newt” Miller, 69, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday April 6, 2024. Born in Frederick on September 28, 1954, to the late Robert William and Helen Marie (Jones) Miller. He was the beloved husband to Sherry Lynn Toms.
Dwayne started his career in construction and would become a master carpenter with over 40 years of experience. He would also work as a tow truck driver with Dorsey’s Towing and Parking Enforcement.
Dwayne was a longtime member of the Frederick Moose Lodge, 371, where he served as an usher and would often help with cooking. He was also a member of the American Legion and AMVETS. He would often travel with his wife to New Orleans, Louisiana for Mardi Gras, and many of its Jazz Festivals. Dwayne also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a fan of the New Orleans Saints and Denver Broncos.
In addition to this wife, he is survived by; his children, Danielle “Nikki” Bailey (Kevin), Erik Miller (Michelle), Melissa Zottola (Tim), Angela Strine (Mark), and Heather Brozik (Thomas), his grandchildren, Devin, Marissa, Cheyenne, Lily, Alexis, Hunter, Jacob, Wyatt, Christian, and Brianna, his close cousin Buddy Dennis, his cherished beagle Toby, and numerous other extended family members.
Family and friends can gather at Keeney and Basford Funeral Homes, P.A., 106 East Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701, on Wednesday April 10, 2024, from 4pm to 7pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday April 11, 2024, at 11am. Interment to be held privately.
