Robert Dacey

Mr. Robert "Bob" Dacey, 70, of Frederick, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023 at home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Karen Dacey for 48 years.

Born October 3, 1952 in McKeesport, PA, he was the son of the late Andrew and Helen Dacey.

Bob graduated from McKeesport High School in 1970 and graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1974, where he met the love of his life; Karen. He received his Master's Degree from Hood College. Bob taught for FCPS for 36 years at TJ High School and West Frederick Middle School. He retired in 2010, and enjoyed working part-time at WFMD News radio until his passing. He was a member of the Yellow Springs Lions Club, coached countless Little League teams, and was involved in high school speech and debate. Most of all, Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and being a "Gropop".

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Michelle Dacey, Philip Dacey, Kimberly Dacey Lane (Donald), Joseph Dacey (Jessica Elisberg) and Ted Dacey (Samuel Frushour), grandchildren; Kira Dacey, Harper Dacey, Zoe Lane and Alexander Lane, and sister; Marianne Dacey.

The family will receive friends from 5pm to 8pm, on Friday, January 13, 2023 at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 6428 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am, on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the church. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
