Robert W. Brunner, Sr.

On January 14, 2023 Bobby Brunner departed this life peacefully with his wife of 55 years by his side. He was the son of the late Harold D. Brunner and Mildred (Burrier) of Frederick, MD. He was the devoted husband to Sharon Brunner. Devoted father to Gina M. Ridings (David), and devoted grandfather to Dylan M. Ridings. He was preceded in death by his son Robert W.
Brunner Jr., Brother Charles (Tubby) Brunner, Mother & Father- In- Law – Clyde (Sr.) & Betty Stup, and Brother-In-Law Michael Reed.

Bob graduated Frederick High School and joined and served in the U.S. Navy from 1965-1971. He was a Vietnam Veteran, firefighter, school bus driver, among other things. He worked at
United Fire Company 3 and moved on to Rockville Fire Dept. He also worked at transit and drove a school bus for F.C.P.S.

Many thanks to all who have been there for Bobby throughout his life. He is survived by his Sisters: Ann Lawson (Charles), Debbie Cheseldine. Special- In- Laws: Jeanne Reed, Clyde &
Jocelyn Stup, Michael & Lynn Stup, Austin & Tina Stup, Lisa Boyle. Special Nieces & Nephews: Dawne & Brian Smith, Sean & Kim Reed, Jason & Debbie Stup, Crystal & David Roberts, and Hannah & Adam, Lacey & Adam. Sherry & Gary Cornwell, Evelyn & Ronnie Ahalt, Special Cousin: who he was proud of his protégé firefighter Captain Timothy Shelton & Kim Shelton.

Special mention to extended family Sara Covahey, Ricky Cook, Wayne Cook, Shannon, Eric, Chelsea, Tanner, Autum Jakob, Kevin, Donald Palmer, Jesse Ince, and all my firehall brothers
and buddies. Bobby loved to read, loved animals especially his dogs and cat, loved camping, and fishing- especially with Clyde Sr. & Pap Baer. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tease you! He always helped his wife in the kitchen washing dishes and scrubbing the floor.

A viewing will be held from 2pm to 5pm, on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home,106 East Church Street, Frederick, MD. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11AM on January 23, 2023 at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home followed by interment in Glade Valley Cemetery.

Per Bobby’s wishes please come in casual dress –blue jeans, flannel shirts - or come as you are! In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Sharon Brunner to help defray expenses, or to
Maryland Multiple Sclerosis Society, or a charity of your choice.
