Richard E. Tyeryar, Sr.

Mr. Richard E. Tyeryar Sr., 71, of Frederick, died Saturday, June 3, 2023.  He was the loving husband of Sharon L. Tyeryar for 44 years.

Born November 10, 1951 in Frederick, he was the son of the late Reid and Gloria (Crummitt) Tyeryar.

Richard is survived by sons; Joey Tyeryar and wife Molly of Frederick and Richard Tyeryar Jr. and wife Teresa  of Frederick, daughter; Amy Tyeryar, brothers; Charles Tyeryar and wife DeeDee of Mt Airy, Arthur Tyeryar Sr. and wife Betty of Frederick and James Tyeryar and wife Tammy of Woodsboro, sisters: Linda Reed and husband Max of Williamsport and Deborah Johnson and husband Ronald of Frederick, loving Granddaughter; Lexi Tyeryar and boyfriend Logan, grandsons; Cameron Tyeryar and Garrett Tyeryar, many in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, step grandchildren and great-grandchildren, many distant family and friends.

In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by brothers; Reid Tyeryar, Paul Tyeryar, Mark Tyeryar and Frederick Tyeryar.

Richard had a love for motorcycles and he rode for several years.  He sponsored, managed and cheered on his son the #42 Tyeryar Racing (Flat Track).  He ran his own concrete business for over 40 years.  Richard while tough on the outside he had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone.  He will truly be missed by many.  In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting and hanging out with his friends but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

The family will receive friends from 10am to 12pm, on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Homes, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick.  The funeral service will immediately follow at 12pm.  Inurnment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made for the funeral to the funeral home.
