Rhea Elizabeth Poling

Mrs. Rhea Elizabeth Poling, 93, of Frederick, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at her residence.  She was the loving wife of the late Kenneth M. Poling, who preceded her in death in 2000.

Rhea was born on August 24, 1930 in Ellerton, MD.  She was the daughter of the late Charles and Elsie (Palmer) Metzer.

Rhea is survived by her son; Kenneth Poling and wife Dianna, daughter; Kathy Clark and husband Paul, daughter-in-law; Mary Poling, granddaughters; Carrie Clark and Christie Nam and husband John and Katie Romero and husband Michael, great-grandchildren; Jasmine Romero and Ephraim Nam; sisters; Gaynell Myers, Christina Garvin, Sue Douglas, Judy Hamilton and Elsie Bell, numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her longtime caregiver; Anna Weedon.

In addition to her husband, Rhea was preceded in death by her son; Mark Poling and siblings; Fae Souders, Robert Metzer, Charles Metzer IV, Ralph Metzer, Delphine Zimmerman, Zane Metzer and Jerry Metzer.

The family will receive friends from 4pm to 7pm, on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick.  The funeral service will be held at 11:00AM, on Friday, October 13, 2023 at the Salem Community Church, 12477 Wolfsville Road, Wolfsville, the family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Wolfsville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Salem Community Church or South End Baptist Church.
