Reed Herbolsheimer was born at FMH in Frederick Maryland, on a stunningly beautiful and warm summer day in July 2006, Reed suddenly and unexpectedly departed this world during the holy Easter celebration week, on Saturday March, 30th 2024.
Beloved son of Dave and Lara, sibling to big brother Max and sister Mille, with an extended family of relatives in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Florida and California, and friends in the Urbana Hawks and greater Frederick County Maryland community and beyond, he resided in Urbana Maryland. So much energy was packed into his brief life, it’s with great sadness and sorrow, that Reed was called to God’s side so soon. Reed touched all those who knew him. And bonding with friends, classmates, and acquaintances and sharing life’s experiences was his persona.
His compassion and respect for God, and mankind never wavered, and Reed approached the world eyes wide open, with gusto, optimism, and happiness. A passionate sports fan, URBANIAC, and hyper competitive in nature, he was courageous and destined to lead.
Reed’s conscience wasn't satisfied unless he was living life on the edge. Reed took the bull by the horns literally when it came to something he was interested in such as F1 Racing. Max Verstappen was his idol and as they say Red Bull gives you wings... He received a mini-bike for Christmas 2023 and enjoyed pushing the little bike to the limit, defying the laws of physics.
Reed found peace in the great outdoors, and was happiest amongst wildlife and animals, notably his St. Bernard's Hercules and Taz, Newfoundland Chewbacca, and Akita Stormy. His cat's Spooky and Crookshank were his closest companions and Reed was forever putting their needs above his own.
Reed was on the cusp of life and future 2024 graduate of Urbana High School. Reed contemplated attending college or military service to pursue advanced studies in computer science. Inspired by his father, who served the federal government, in Washington DC and abroad, Reed was a true patriot with the heart of a lion. Reed answered to a higher authority to put faith and American interests first. Duty, Honor, God and Country was his calling. His mom was always there, bestowing kindness, sharing, love and promoting Reed's enthusiastic generous spirit. Reed was motivated to treat everyone and every living thing respectfully and strived to leave the world a better place then he found it.
Loved by his family, friends, and the community, Reed will be dearly missed.
The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long - and you have burned so very, very brightly, Reed
