Peter R. Twentey

Pete’s personal “guardian angel” (Alex) came to escort him to our Heavenly Father on January 1, 2024.

Born on July 16, 1946 he was the youngest son of the late George Ross and Eva June Morgan Twentey.

He was a 1964 graduate of Frederick High School. Shortly after graduation, proudly joined the Army Security Agency for four years with a Top Secret Crypto clearance. Later he obtain an Associate Degree from Frederick Community College in Business Administration.

His career was spent in the Printing and Graphic/Material Services fields with Fairchild, Studio 20, Frederick Electronics, Washington Hospital Center (20 years) and SERRV International when he retired in 2013.

Pete was married to his best friend, Doris, for 44 years and lived in the beautiful Catoctin Mountains for over 30 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Troy Twentey (Ronda) of Blue Ridge Summit, PA, daughter, Shannon Floyd (Scott) of Martinsburg WV., daughter, Karen Smith of Severna Park, MD. Grandson, Wesley VanFleet of Chambersburg, PA. Grandson, Tyler Browne of Forestville, MD. Granddaughter Lauren Brake of Severna Park, MD. Grandson Cole Brake of Severna Park, MD. Grandson Joshua Floyd, Martinsburg, WV. And a Great grandson Hayden VanFleet of Chambersburg, PA Brother Ron Twentey (Trish) of Little Orleans, MD and Sister, Judy Putman of Walkersville, MD.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Lennie Twentey, Rudy Twentey, and a sister Jennie Twentey.

Pete loved to play golf with many of his best buddies, proudly rode Harley Davison motorcycles with many of his brothers and sisters over the years. He was an outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish.

Pete was the founding member of Post 11 Frederick American Legion Riders and served the first two years as the Director and honorary life member over 40 years. Was also a charter member of Amvets Post 7 Riders Thurmont, MD (life member). A life member of Frederick Elks Lodge 684, and a life member of VFW Post 3285 Frederick, MD.

The family will receive friends from 4pm to 7pm, on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick.  The funeral service will be held at 1:00PM, on Friday, January 5, 2024 at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.  A celebration of Pete’s life will be held immediately after the graveside service at the Post 11 Frederick American Legion, 1450 Taney Avenue, Frederick.
