Peter Norbert Rostek

Peter Norbert Rostek, 92, of Silver Spring, MD, passed on February 22, 2022. He was born January 21, 1930 in Baltimore, MD to the late Piotr and Estelle (Lepkowski) Rostek.

Peter was passionate about music, good food, wine and cigars. He was an avid fisherman, marksman and gardener. Most of all, Peter loved spending time with his five daughters and their families. Peter was a master craftsman who owned and operated Harry C. Johnson and son, a cabinetmaking business in Gaithersburg, MD. He leaves a legacy as a remarkably skilled teacher and mentor to generations of woodworkers. Peter is fondly remembered for his approachable nature and sense of calm.

He is survived by his daughters, Olivia Piontek, Anita Brown, Regina Zakotnik, Lauren Rostek and Anna Rostek, his sisters, Christine Nowakowski, Irene Kelmartin, and Peggy Schoenberger, 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Family and friends are welcome to gather at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 118 East 2nd Street, Frederick, MD 21701, from 10:30am until the start of the Memorial Mass at 11am on Thursday March 3, 2022. Burial will take place at a later date.
