Margaret Patricia Koogle age 83 has joined the loves of her life Bud Hanley and Elvis Presley in heaven on Saturday, November 5, 2022. Pat passed peacefully at home under the care of her family and Frederick Hospice.
Pat was born in Frederick, Maryland and was the daughter of Conley and Margaret Koogle. Pat is survived by her sisters Nancy Stillions and Linda Windsor and her nieces Ann Rice, Doris Koogle, Jeanie Fox, Harry Lambright III, Robert Lambright, Rebecca Glandorf, Eric Windsor, Denise Rudegeair, Brian Windsor, Kathy Stillions, and many great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents her brother James Koogle, sister Barbara Kay Lambright, and the love of her life Clarence “Bud” Handley Jr.
She worked for many years in Frederick in the insurance industry. She clerked for a local auction company when time allowed. After her retirement she became a seller on eBay sharing some of her Christmas treasures that she found in her adventures with others around the world.
Pat loved everything about Elvis Presley from a young age. She was able to attend many concerts before his death. After her retirement she decided to fulfill a dream of moving to Memphis, Tennessee and living close to Graceland. Pat did “walk up” at Graceland every day to visit the King’s grave and often did tours of the estate. She made many friends in Memphis and made the most of retired life. Pat had a love of horses and dogs which she shared with Bud. They would often go to rodeos and she learned how to work with leather making saddles. They spent many happy years together.
Pat had a love of all things Christmas and collected vintage Christmas décor. She was a wonderful example of holding the spirit of Christmas in your heart year-round. She was a member of the Golden GLOW of Christmas Past for many years. Pat touched many lives both in and around her home town of Frederick, Maryland and her beloved Memphis, Tennessee.
Pat was a loving person that made friends with just about everyone she met. She had a deep love of family. She was always willing to help anyone in need.
Special thanks to Peggy Hall for taking care of Pat after her stroke in many years ago which allowed her to remain in her Memphis home for many years to follow. To all her Memphis friends thank you for the memories you help her make they gave her great comfort and joy remembering all the good times.
