Nikole Hannah Malkowski

June 15, 1979 — September 24, 2024

Our family is sad to announce the unexpected passing of our sister, Nikole Hannah Malkowski on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 in her home in Frederick, Maryland. She was hospitalized and later released this past August and was attempting to recover when she left us. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Nikole was born and raised in Frederick, Maryland. She graduated from Frederick High School in 1997. As a child, she loved and excelled in gymnastics, and was first in her division for the State of Maryland in 1990. Nikole often wowed crowds with her impressive ability to execute difficult maneuvers and perform breathtakingly beautiful floor routines. She passed on her love of gymnastics to her only child, her beloved son, Kaige. Nikole later switched to tap, jazz and ballet, and was equally successful in competitions with the Betty Jane Dance Studio. Nikole was gorgeous, and well known for her beautiful smile, kindness, caring, and easy-going personality. She had a great sense of humor, a laugh that was contagious, and always spread laughter around her. Nikole chose to live and treat others with love and affection. She lived in Frederick the majority of her life, but resided in Baltimore for several years before moving back to Frederick. It was there that she fell in love with the Baltimore Ravens, becoming an avid fan. She never missed a game and was sure they had an excellent shot of getting to the Super Bowl this year! Nikole worked at Costco as a front end assistant for the last 5 years. She enjoyed working with her co-workers, many of whom she considered her dear friends. She took pride in her work and her competitive nature often motivated her to try and get the most donations for charity and upgrades. Her work ethic won her employee of the month for several years. Nikole enjoyed going out of her way to make someone’s day through small acts of kindness and generosity. She’d often compliment people throughout the day to try and make a small positive difference in their day. Nikole’s greatest love was her son Kaige, her family, friends and her Pug, Pud (her “old man” as she lovingly called him). When she found out he was having trouble breathing, she spent more than she could afford to get him the surgery he needed to breathe easier. She loved spending time with her son, sisters, nieces and nephews, She enjoyed playing in the pool with them and never hesitated to jump in and join them in the water. She also loved music, concerts and enjoyed tubing down the Shenandoah River. She took pleasure in the view, and just being outdoors taking in the nature surrounding the river. Nikole is preceded in death by her parents Maria “Zoe” Mejia and Harry “Eugene” Malkowski, as well as her sister Stephanie Anderson. She is survived by one son, Kaige Michael Brockey, her sisters Catherine Andrea Smith, Natalie J. Reineke, Heather O’Brien, Sara Malkowski-Scholl. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews; Dominic Moore, Nik Reineke, Genevieve Reineke, Alexander Reineke, Andrea Zoe Smith, Haley Smith, Ethan O’Brien, Zoe Achstetter, Joshua Scholl, Trent Scholl, Chase Scholl, Amyah Moore, and Mia Moore, each of which she deeply loved and held a very special bond. Nikole will also be deeply missed by her pug, Pud, who loved snuggles and keeping her company. Nikole’s memorial service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. 199 North Pl, Frederick, Maryland 21701 on Sunday September 29, 2024 at 6:30 pm. In lieu of flowers a donation to the American Heart Association would be appreciated.
