He earned his master’s degree in mathematics but left to begin his career at the Census Bureau before completing his doctoral dissertation. He worked at the Census Bureau as a mathematical statistician in the Statistical Research, Agriculture and Business Divisions.  He retired as ADC for Statistical Design and Evaluation, in the Economic and Statistical Methods and Programming Division.  Nash and Catherine raised their children in Camp Springs, Maryland and eventually moved to Frederick after retirement.

Travel, both near and far, was always loved with trips to Europe, Canada, and Mexico in addition to many trips throughout the USA, including Hawaii.

He was an avid reader whose library included Thomas Aquinas, C.S. Lewis, Tolkien and much more.  As his health declined, he watched more TV especially film noir movies.  He was tirelessly dedicated to the pro-life cause and a volunteer at soup kitchens and food pantries.
