Nancy McMillion, 79, of Woodsboro went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 8, 2023.
Born on November 21, 1943, in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Arnold Simmons and Frances Crutchley Simmons. She was so caring and loving with the children at her daycare in her home, until she decided to get her GED when she was 38. She then decided to be a customer service representative where she worked for a few plumbing and heating companies. Nancy retired from Charles Klein & Sons Plumbing and Heating, at the age of 65. She also worked as a waitress at several restaurants to supplement her income to provide for her children. Her daughter: Linda started taking care of her mom in 2017. In October 2018 Nancy started falling; then she became a resident of Frederick Health and Rehabilitation for leg rehab. She came home in February 2019 where Linda continued to take care of her in Nancy’s home until early 2020 when her dementia progressed to more than Linda could provide care for. She then became a resident at Frederick Health and Rehabilitation.
Nancy is survived by two sons Courtney Nash Jr. and wife LouAnn, Dwayne Nash: One daughter Linda Brady; six grandchildren, Robert “Robbie” Nash and wife Kaitlin, Eric Nash and wife Mandy, Michelle Chavez and husband Ruvin, Heather Brady, Kenneth “Kenny” Brady and wife Lindsey, Megan Brady; five granddaughters, Ciannah Sinnott, Cheyenne Sinnott, Mireya Chavez, Chloe Brady, Bristol Nash: six grandsons Brayden Nash, Cannon Nash, Carter Brady, Harlen Chavez, Hudson Nash, Camden Shaffer, Sister-in-law Kitty Reese, two nieces Debra Dutrow and Sandra George and husband Mike. More aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Frances Dutrow and husband George Dutrow Sr., brother-in-law Richard Reese. Harry Crutchley, Faye Crutchley, Elaine Gilbert, Gradon Tobery Sr, Nannie Lambert, Marion “Guy” Hines.
Serving as pallbearers are her son Courtney Nash Jr., and grandsons Robbie Nash, Eric Nash, Kenny Brady, Ruvin Chavez and her nephew George Dutrow Jr.
If you are attending, please wear something red; we want it to be more of a celebration. Family and friends will be received from 10-11 on Friday, October 13, 2023, and the funeral service will be held at 11:00 on Friday October 13,2023, at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home. The interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
