Michael Joseph Wood

Michael Joseph Wood, 74, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Mary Elizabeth Wood, born in Nyack, New York, to the late Frank and Shirley (née Lovelace) Wood.

Throughout his life Michael explored many avenues in his professional and leisure time.  Early on he worked as a Registered Nurse before transitioning to information technologies working with everything from copy machines and computers to slot machines on the Los Vegas strip.  He was a passionate music buff, playing guitar and listening to all of the best bands from the 60s & 70s and a film aficionado.    Above all, he is remembered as a deeply caring and loving family man.

In addition to his wife Mary, Michael is survived by his two sons, Matthew, his wife Hannah and their daughters Norah and Meera and Patrick, his wife Jennifer and their daughters Holland and Sullivan; his siblings, David, Matthew, Sharon, Debbie and Dee; and his nieces and nephews, Kim, Jennifer, Jeanine, John, and Woody. He is predeceased by his brothers, Frank, Aaron and Paul, and nephews, David, Christopher, and James.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 118 East 2nd Street, Frederick, MD 21701, on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 10:00 am. The interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery.
