Mary Kathryn Malone

Mrs. John J. Malone (Mary Kathryn), of Monrovia, Maryland, passed away on Thursday November 21, 2019 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.  Mary is the beloved wife of the late John J. Malone, Sr., mother of John Malone Jr. and his wife Charlotte, Veronica Malone, Theodore Malone, Sr., James Malone and his wife Victoria; grandmother of Andrew Malone and Theodore Malone, Jr.  Mary also survived by her sister and brother in law, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rickerson, sister in law Patte Keane, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

After graduating from Cathedral High School (1951), in New York City, Mary and husband John married on November 5, 1955.  They lived happily in Yonkers, Pearl River, and Hopewell Junction, New York before moving to Monrovia, Maryland, in 1986, where they spent many happy years.  Throughout her life, Mary enjoyed the employment of Chase Manhattan Bank, IBM, and Craftstar Homes.  She was a member of St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church in Ijamsville, Maryland, where she also served as a Eucharist Minister for several years.

The family will receive family and friends at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, Maryland on Monday, December 2, 2019 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.  A funeral mass will held be on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at 10 a.m. at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church, 4103 Prices Distillery Road, Ijamsville, Maryland.   Interment will follow at St. Johns Cemetery, E 3rd St, Frederick, MD 21701.
