Marvin Edward Kennedy, Sr.

Mr. Marvin Edward Kennedy, Sr., 93, of Frederick, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at the Kline Hospice House. He was the husband of the late Bertha Crum Kennedy. Born in Frederick on December 14, 1926, he was a son of the late Bernard and Myrle Wollard Kennedy.
Marvin proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Francis Scott Key American Legion Post 11, the Amvets Post 2 and the Frederick Elks Lodge, where he was active with bingo.
Marvin was a master plumber and had worked for many years for Frederick County as a plumbing inspector.
Surviving are his children, Joan V. Thomas, of Frederick, Marvin E. Kennedy, of Keyser, WV, grandsons, Clinton Bartholow Thomas, of Mt. Airy, Peter Pitkin Thomas, Jr. and wife Betsy, of Washington State, three great grandchildren, Cameron Kennedy Thomas, of Smithsburg, Calvin Jacob Thomas and Cooper Bartholow Thomas both of Mt. Airy.
Services will be private. Arrangements are with the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, Frederick.
