Marietta Alice Johnston

Marietta Alice Johnston, 85, of Union Bridge, MD, passed unexpectedly on Friday, December 16, 2022. Born in Frederick on November 9, 1937, to the late Stephen G. and Leoma (nee Leuther) Myers. She was the beloved wife to the late William A. Mutchner and Forrest C. Johnston.

Marietta worked for 27 years at the Frederick Visitation Academy until it closed. She was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Eagles Club, and the AMVETS, post 2. In her free time she enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and trips to Charles Town casino to play slots and trips to Lake Anna

She is survived by; her son Stephen A. Mutchner, her step children; William A Mutchner, Christine Miller, Marlene Singletary, Edward Johnston, her step grandsons; Edward and Kevin Johnston, and her siblings; William A. Myers and Bernard S. Myers. In addition to her parents and husbands, she is predeceased by her daughter-in-law Linda L. Mutchner and her pet dog Corkey.

Family and friends can gather at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Homes, P.A., 106 East Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701, on Tuesday December 27, 2022 from 12pm until the start of the funeral service at 1pm. Interment is to follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
