Marie B. Greber

Marie B. Greber died in her sleep at her home in Frederick, with her husband of 62 years, Manny, by her bedside, on Saturday, February 9. She was 84. Marie was born at home in Garfield, New Jersey, the first child of the late Vito and Emma Lido, two first-generation Italian-Americans.

She grew up and went to nursing school in New Jersey, where she met the love of her life, Emanuel J. (“Manny”) Greber, on a blind date. She was engaged to Manny six weeks later. Marie practiced nursing for many years but concentrated her time on loving and supporting her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also loved Jesus Christ. Marie was an avid reader and enjoyed playing bridge, spending time with her family, and discussing Christianity and politics. She is survived by her husband, Manny, her brother and sister-in-law, Vic and Linda Lido, her son and daughter-in-law, David and Lynne Greber, her daughter, Stacy Marie Greber, her grandchildren and their spouses, Lauren and Ben Nava, David and Patty Trifone, Elizabeth and Ike Fouse, Stephen Trifone, and Mark and Ambar Trifone, her great-grandchildren, Chase Trifone and Julian Trifone, and her nephews and their spouses, Jon-Erik and Melissa Lido and Todd and Erin Lido.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 16, at 1:00 p.m., at Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, Maryland. The family will greet visitors following the service from 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. Burial will be private.
