Madelaine F. Linebarger

Madelaine Frances Linebarger, 73, of Frederick – formerly of Middletown, CT – entered eternal peace on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at the Pleasant View Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by laughter and some of those she loved most in the world.

Born at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego, CA on April 12, 1949, Maddy was the daughter of the late Kenneth Wright and Dorothea (Fowler) Wright.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband Joel Kenneth (Kenny) (Pop) Linebarger and her stepson, William Rottler-Eidson.

Madelaine is survived by her sister Patricia (Wright) and husband, Michael Reinsch, of Los Angeles, CA, her children; Dylan Linebarger and wife, Tara, of Hagerstown, MD, Kim Tharp and husband, John, of Meriden, CT, Chelsea Kent and husband, Jim, of Berlin, CT and Shannon Ryan of Virginia Beach, VA.  Her 13 grandchildren; Brandon Williams, Joshua Springer, Janie Newell, Jacob Springer, Logan Tharp, Jordan Tharp, Tanner Kent, Breana Ryan, Dylan Joel Linebarger, Kieran Ryan, Owen Linebarger, Asher Linebarger and Catherine Bowlyou. As well as 7 great-grandchildren.

Maddy was a wonderful cook and loved hosting family parties mainly ones with a theme.  She took pride in decorating her home, especially when it came to antiquing and finding unique pieces to display which always had a story.  She was witty with a passion for trivia and history. Enjoyed visiting museums and traveling to new places with her family but her heart never left California.

“Colorful” at all times, Maddy always lived her life as her genuine self.  Though she was strong willed, sassy and matter of fact, her door was always open and took in any stray, human or animal, off the street.  She did everything with all her might and we loved her for it.

The family will receive friends at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, on Saturday January 21, 2023 from 1PM to 3PM.
