Lois Leigh Banks

Ms. Lois L. Banks, 59, of Myersville passed away Monday, January 30, 2023 at her residence.

Born August 31, 1963 in Frederick, she was the daughter of L. Jean Hemp and the late L. Albert Hemp.

Lois graduated from Thomas Johnson High School Class of 1981 and then received her Associates Degree from FCC. She started, founded and operated Silhouette Stables in Myersville. Lois loved instructing children in learning to ride and care for horses. Her life's passion was her animals especially her horses, dogs and cats.

In addition to her mother; Lois is survived by her brother; Donald Hemp (Susan), nieces; Kristin Berney (Dustin), Megan Davis (Nick) and Shannon Hemp, grandnieces and nephews; Carter Berney, Mackenzie Berney, Paisley Berney and Ryker Davis and former spouses; Mike Portner and Chuck Banks.

The family will receive friends from 4pm to 7pm, on Monday, February 6, 2023 at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. The funeral service and interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lois's name to Hospice of Frederick County, 1 Frederick Health Way, Frederick, MD 21701.
