Linda Irene Vance, born in 1943 in Seattle, Washington, passed away on February 26, 2025. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who lived a life full of adventure and dedication.
Raised in an Air Force family, Linda experienced the world from a young age. Her childhood and adolescence took her to diverse locations including Madrid, Spain; Del Rio, Texas; Arlington, Virginia; Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana; and Florida. These experiences instilled in her a
love for travel and a deep appreciation for different cultures.
In December 1965, Linda married the love of her life, Larry L. Vance, at K.I. Sawyer AFB, Michigan. Their journey together as a military family took them to Misawa, Japan, and various assignments in Texas, Ohio, Florida, Virginia, Las Vegas, and Colorado. After Larry's retirement
from the Air Force, they settled in Maryland, where they built a loving home and a fulfilling life together. They were married for almost 60 years.
Linda had a distinguished career at the Bureau of Standards, now known as the National Institute of Science and Technology. Later, she joined Larry in working at Advanced Engineering and Planning Corporation, where Larry was the Executive Vice President and Linda served as his Executive Assistant.
Linda is survived by her devoted husband, Larry; their three sons, Michael, Larry Jr., and Chris; her cherished poodle, Rudy; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson. She will be remembered for her unwavering love and support for her family, her adventurous spirit, and her dedication to her work.
Linda's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
All funeral services are private. Entombment will be at Mt Olivet Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made toa charity of one's choice in Linda's memory.
