Lewis Franklin Hurst

Lewis “Sweets” Franklin Hurst, 76, of Frederick, MD, passed on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at his residence. Born in Frederick on September 30, 1946 to the late Lewis and Mary (nee Mansfield) Hurst. He was the beloved husband of Eleanore Hurst.

Lewis was a skilled painter and dry wall installer. He worked for TransTech for over 20 years before retiring.

He enjoyed going on camping and fishing trips. Lewis also enjoyed ten pin bowling and trips to the Charlestown Casino.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children; his son Lewis “Will” Hurst and daughter Eloise Smith (Doug), grandchildren; Seanna Hurst, Samuel Smith, and Jackson Smith, his brother Tommy Hurst, his cousins Mike, Sherry, and Larry Gibbons, close friend Skip Cole, and numerous extended family.

Funeral services for Lewis will be held at 1:00PM, on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the Lewistown UMC, Lewistown, MD.
