Lewis Wilmer Aylor, Jr.

Mr. Lewis Wilmer Aylor, Jr., age 83, of Frederick Maryland passed, January 7, 2019. Born May 29, 1935 in Uno, Virginia, he was the son of the late Lewis Wilmer and Maude Francis (nee Miller) Aylor, Sr. He was the beloved husband of 42 years to Linda Aylor.

Lewis was a talented and dedicated mechanic for over 60 years. He worked as a mechanic in Maryland, Virginia, Florida, and North Carolina. In this spare time he was known to take things apart and put them back together.

Lewis enjoyed taking vacations to Florida and various other east coast locations. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends and family and cared deeply for those in his life. He would also enjoy a scotch before his dinner.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by: his children Ronald Aylor and wife Connie, Debbie Aylor, and Jeff Aylor, his sisters; Virginia Hildebrand, Remona Spaulding, Judith Hughes, Rose Hahn, and grandchildren; Gretchen and Samantha. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sons; Jimmy Aylor and Jason Aylor, siblings; Willie Aylor, Lindbergh Aylor, William Aylor, Ernest Aylor, Bryant Aylor, Mary Cason, Martha Rhodes and best friend Philip Ridgely.

The family will receive friends and family from 4-7pm, on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Friday, January 11, 2019 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Resthaven Memorial Garden Cemetery.

At Lewis’ request the family has asked everyone to dress casually for the visitation and funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the family to offset funeral expenses.
