Leo A. Dorsey, Jr.

Mr. Leo A. Dorsey Jr., 86, of Frederick passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024. He was the loving husband of Rose R. Dorsey for 61 years.

Born January 23, 1938 in Jamestown, NY, he was the son of the late Leo A. Dorsey Sr. and Evelyn Morse Dorsey.

For thirty years Leo was a successful member of the IBM sales team achieving a multitude of "Salesman of the Year" awards. In his free time Leo enjoyed golfing, maintaining the grounds at their home in Braddock Heights, MD, and most of all, spending time with his family and friends. Leo was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in his late 40s and subsequently resided at Citizen's Care in Frederick, MD for the remaining fifteen years of his life. Leo was known for his great sense of humor, willingness to assist anyone in need, and his unwavering love and dedication to his wife Rose, and their three children.

He is survived by his children; Leo A. Dorsey III (Kimberly Fleetwood), Rita A. Dorsey (Michael S. Hunter) and Matthew W. Dorsey (Sonia Dorsey), grandchildren; Jackson Hunter, Nathaniel Hunter, Eva Dorsey and Amanda Dorsey, sister; Mary Lou Dorsey Urquhart, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00, on Friday, March 15, 2024 at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. Inurnment will be private.
